Jack's 9th Birthday

Well, I am so far behind on this but if I'm going to do a blog then I'm going to do the important moments in life. There is something both special and heartbreaking about your oldest turning 9- the last years of a single digit. It's not really the number though but just how much he has grown both physically and mentally this last year. I'm sure there will be years like this but this has been surreal.

Jack is in the 3rd grade this year and has Miss Stow. We couldn't be more happy about his teacher and the school. We love Jenks SE! I could do praises on that school all day long! He started his 2nd season of football and Dad has been a full time coach. I'm talking full time for both- games on Saturday and practices 3 nights a week. But you know what? He loves it. LOVES IT. I mean the child knows more about football than I ever even thought about having. Him and Jason watch the NFL and College games and just chat back and forth about it. And you know what? I love it. Another thing for them to bond over.

He was once again nominated for Trojan of the Week- Courageous! That's what he got last year too. He really does have such a kind spirit and most of the time will be the first one to stand up for someone. I love his sweet heart and kindness that he has for everyone. He's so lovable because he wants to be loved too- he loves entertaining, he loves being a friend and he loves being around people. I pray those traits always stay with him.

We are working on being a little more gentle and kind to the younger brother. They do tend to go round and round. It always makes Jason and I laugh though because Jack still has a tendency to get worked up at night (he's a bit of a spook) and then Henry is his best friend because he wants to sleep with him. It's hysterical. He will laugh at this one day and remember. He's happy to go upstairs as long as someone goes with him- even if that means it's just Phil.

Jack is definitely bigger and more mature and we've added on some responsibilities. He feeds Bosco almost every meal and takes out the trash (this is on top of making his bed and emptying the dishwasher). Jack really is a wonderful help. Of course he whines and complains at time but most of the time he's pretty good. I mean I love having him around as an extra hand. It makes my life so much easier. Miss Stow often tells me how he offers to help or does things on his own in the classroom too..I quickly remind him that he can do that at home as well!

We had a wonderful week of celebrations for my big boy! His birthday once again fell over Fall Break but we were able to enjoy all of it. My cousin and Aunt had been in from Arkansas so we got to go to some of his tennis tournaments. Jack loved that. This kid loves family more than anything. It's so wonderful.

He had a small sleepover with some of his besties from school and his football team. We just took them to Main Event...dinner, laser tag and games. Then malts and nonsense here at the house. What else is better? We did have them all asleep by midnight so that was good! Woo!

A nice little fall break spent around Tulsa and then that Sunday we had a family celebration. Again, Jack loves his family so that's what was important to him! We had a fun cookout and just enjoyed celebrating Jack. He got his first NFL Jersey- #99 JJ Watt (one of his favorite players) and the new KD basketball shoes. See. Funny. Before it was toys. Now it's clothes.

Big boy with Uncle Collier and cousin Max! He even got checked out of school early one day to go watch the tournament!

My big boy!

Cousins galore!

His actual birthday was on a Tuesday which meant football practice, but I still got to go up to school and give cookies and treats. I think we had enough celebration that last week as it was. My mom also checked him out for lunch and then he got to pick out a special toy at ToysRUs. What was it? Legos of course! Avengers legos! He still does love legos. He had a great birthday week and we loved celebrating our first born!

Phillip @ 18 Months

I cannot get enough of your curls!

Another Wiltshire boy! Football football football!
Oh my darling baby why do you grow so quickly? Already in size 2T, size 8 shoe and 29 lbs! (there is no wonder I have shoulder issues...also because you like to be carried and I like to carry you around!) I can't believe it's already been 6 months since your 1st Birthday but yet it seems just like yesterday. Just like it seems that you just started walking, yet you run around the house and after the boys like you've been doing it forever. You are by far the toughest little monster around and I have no doubt that when you are big and old enough you will be able to hold your own.

It is the Christmas holidays and I can't help but think of you at this time last year. You were just starting to crawl. I was slowly weaning you off of breastfeeding, and you loved your oatmeal cereal. You were and still are the happiest baby going.

Okay, I take that back a little bit. Yes the happiest baby but not entirely at the moment right now but who can blame you? You have all 4 canines coming in at the same time! That will round out your total teeth to 16! So you basically have a mouthful of teeth and Daddy cringes at the thought of me telling him to give you teething gel (you like to bite him a bit....and he likes to scream loudly!).

You are sleeping now so I can finish my post. I wish I could carve out more time to write about everything that you do but most of it I will just keep as my treasured memories. You are by far (and this is so hard to believe) the busiest boy. You are constantly moving and constantly into anything you can get your hands on. Of course none of these are toys but everything you are not supposed to have.

You love digging in all of my drawers in the kitchen and throwing my pillows off the bed. You love trying to steal my hair dryer or curling iron and then run away and try and plug it in an outlet. My how you keep me on my toes. But I wouldn't have it ANY other way.

Your favorite foods right now are roasted chicken, cheese, "chakie" (chocolate), bananas, cheesy eggies and pees. You really do eat most everything. Yes you are still in love with your "nui nai" (milk) and that's okay because I don't really care to get rid of the bottle just yet.

You are a big boy now too- started in August at Mothers Day Out down the street and really did good from the start. It took a few weeks for you to get in to the adjustment of not being around those that you know but you are open arms and flying through the window when I take you. I'm sure you are just as busy there as you are at home. But I love that you are open to new people and new places. I hope that never changes.

We also have taken two fun trips this fall - one on Labor Day to Branson and one on Thanksgiving to Dallas. While you may not be the best in the care you make it fun and manageable and as long as you have your brothers to entertain you then all is well! ...oh and your "nui nai". You have also been an amazing sport (like most little siblings need to be) at going to all the sporting events. The countless soccer and football games you've been to- and been so well has been impressive. Though I"m hoping next year at the football games I don't have to chase you across and up and down the bleachers as much!

I love watching your brothers with you. For the most part they are pretty good and patient with you, even though you are constantly into their toys, you turn off the TV in the middle of their show and you sit on them (right on the head sometimes). They so love you and love being your big brothers. But I also know how much you love and adore them. Your "Ack" (Jack) and well who knows what you really call Henry. We also like to laugh at how many times you go around the house saying "Mama". All so you can find me. Or just so you can make sure I'm paying attention to you. You also say "Daddy" everytime you hear the door open. You just cannot wait for him to come home.

A boy is what you are! How you love being outside and doing anything and everything with your Dad or brothers. Playing in the leaves, trying to rake, running down the street, taking a walk. Oh your Dad has decided it would be funny to teach you how to ride the scooter. Let's just say lucky for you and me both that Mommy is quick. That afternoon when Henry left his scooter in the driveway and you hopped on (knowing exactly how to) and started going right down the hilly driveway. I turned at exactly the right moment to run and catch you. Woo!

Just like the other two you are always keeping me on my toes. I so love your passion for your family that you have already and your stubborn personality. Though you may be small now you are mighty and have a fierceness that will lead you along the way.

I still cherish our snuggles- more so now than ever because you are much longer than my chest. I love getting your "stars" at night and singing our special songs and saying our special prayer. I love praying over you my son and I will continue to for all times.

As I say to you everyday, "I Love You Too Much" ..."but never enough"

Okay Mommy sometimes does what she needs to do at dinner to keep you happy...and yes the drink was gone but yes, there were some remnants!

Too funny! You couldn't get enough of this wolf. You kept running back to hug him and it was the funniest thing!

Oh you loved Auntie Jacquelyn! Glued to her hip! You love meeting new family!

And you love each and every animal that comes your way!

Just fitting. Soccer game. Pa's cane. What else?

And his life. Milk. Brothers. Blankie.

Phillip @ 1 Year!

Well the time has come and gone- my littlest one has turned 1! What a big big boy he is. He's the quickest and most busy out of all the boys and this new one year old certainly knows how to keep his mommy busy and quick to fall asleep at night. I'm not sure who is more tired!?! AND I wouldn't have it any other way!

Big boy turned 1 on the 22nd and it was a great day. We had a fun filled birthday party, complete with our closest friends and family. He was, of course, overwhelmed but I think he had a good time. Always what they say with the 1st birthday- it's more for the mama than anyone else. Celebration of a wonderful year for Jason and I to remember and look back on. Luckily he had a wonderful LONG nap before so we were all good and he wasn't too cranky!

Here are some of the pictures from his party:

Jungle Safari Theme! And please ignore my dining room as I haven't even begun to decorate that room!

1st Year Birthday crown- Jack had the same one. :)

Cake by Kathy Langston- isn't it too cute! She always does my cakes and does a fabulous job!

Okay saw this fun little project on Pinterest- cardboard 1 with photos from his 1st year! The canvas to the right was something I had made in Hong Kong. :)

Cousin Micah and my Mom with Phillip

Good family friend Lori Stout!

Cute candid!

He was so funny...he wanted no part of the cake

He pushed his cupcake away and I literally had to put icing in his mouth

And feed him...

...then he loved it!

And he did NOT love his hat.... he did not! (I love this shot though!)

Ah yes...our "nuinai" (milk) makes it so much better!

Thanks Uncle Beau for capturing some cute shots of me and my baby!

Okay I totally felt like Lou after the party! :)

Fun fun pictures and a fun fun party!

Now we are still pretty much the same in terms of our progress. I still haven't taken him to his 1 year appointment- guess I should do that. I have been so caught up with his party, memorial day weekend and the last week of school (and now summer) that I've kinda forgotten. Bad mommy....

He is sleeping in a lot later, but then again he is going down later. There's just too much excitement at night. The boys have been staying up later too and we've been enjoying the outdoors. He LOVES the pool and loves the water. He just splashes around in puddles and gets himself all wet. You know...what boys do.

We have started him on whole milk. We gradually introduced it for about a week...half formula and half milk. Now he's on just milk and loves it. He's always loved his milk. (Henry was the same way). You can't even let him see his bottle or he just goes nuts. It's actually pretty funny. Other than that, he's eating just about everything. I game him a little bit of a peanut butter sandwich but he wasn't a huge fan...maybe soon. :)

Lil' P has quite a bit of a temper though. Woo. Woo. I mean I understand he gets tired. I mean we are on the go ALL the time. Neither one of the older boys were on the go like this. So sometimes (like this morning) he had a bit of a melt down. Granted it was noon and he was due for a meal and/or nap. I wouldn't let him go near the trash pile on the baseball fields and he lost it. Yep. Lost it. Oh that's so much fun to handle in the heat. ha ha! I just had to take him to the car and send Henry in to fetch Jack after baseball camp. Anyway, hoping it's just when he's tired and not something else.

We are learning what it's like to have the boys home with us all day. It's been pretty interesting and I think Phillip is taking it well. He loves the boys and loves watching them so I know he's happy. It's just difficult sometimes trying to get everyone to be quiet while he naps.

I guess now I can do 3 month increments...I'll do one at the end of the summer! I bet by then he will be running (he almost is now!). He just grows so quickly it's hard for me to take a moment and take it all in. But this blog helps me to remember just how it this time...and I love it.

Happy Happy Birthday Phillip Hunt! We all love you dearly your spunk, your tenacity, your smile and your funny personality. You are forever a beautiful gift to us.

Phillip @ 11 Months

Okay, I've been totally putting this one off...little one (and not so little anymore) is turning 1 in just a few weeks. The party is being planned and while it's so fun it's also bittersweet. Why do they have to grow so very quickly? Just right before our very eyes.

In fact, he's such a big boy he's WALKING! Probably right at about 11 months is when he first started taking a few steps. Just here and there, then gradually over the next week that's been his progress. THEN, last week, he just started taking more and more. Now were up to about 10-12 steps before he drops. Now, this could be because he wants to, because he falls on his own or because he's getting knocked down on accident by a dog or a brother. But he's quite funny and very proud of himself. I won't lie either, I'm pretty glad. He just wants to move all the time and I hate having him crawl all around when were out.

He still just has the 8 teeth though I'm certain were getting in those 1 year molars. He intensely shoves his whole hand into his mouth and makes this awful noise. It's not fun for anyone. However, doesn't stop him from eating. We don't eat too much baby food now- maybe a little bit of vegetables and fruits, but that's it. He pretty much eats what we do- cut up chicken, eggs, hamburger, cheese, blueberries, bananas, pastas and rice. All of it. Loves his food, just like every other boy in the family. I'm sure we'll soon be on to those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that are always a favorite.

Okay bad mommy of the year too- I still haven't moved him up to his actual "room". Terrible. I keep telling myself that I'm going to move his bed up (I mean his room is ready) but I just keep delaying it. I guess I should do that before he turns 1. I think I'm just having a hard time letting go of my "baby". Not to mention I totally love having him in the room right next to us. It does make it easy. Then I think...okay, do I really want him upstairs with the other two? The gameroom is right next to his room. But some days he'd be better off up there. I guess I just need to make the move!

So, mind you this is my child, but can I say what a cheesy little entertainer he already is?!? He absolutely loves any and all attention and just chuckles at himself when he does something funny. Then the more you laugh, the more he does. I mean he will go on and one for a good 2 minutes. It's hysterical. He's really big into clapping for himself, he knows how to give kisses (though they're the big open mouth kind- still love them though!), he can throw any ball pretty well, he loves taking off his shoes, he loves climbing the stairs, he loves doing anything outside and he loves pulling anything out of cabinets and drawers. Okay, on this last one, why? I mean why? With a million toys around he wants no part of them. All he wants to do is make a mess with everything he's not supposed to have? And bookshelves! Ugh. Henry was the same...all they do is just pull EVERY SINGLE book out of the bookcase. It's terrible. Ah such is life I suppose. And the phase will soon pass.

Of course it seems like my little Philly is just an angel- contrary to the belief- he's quite the little stinker at times. He has gotten to where he screams quite loudly when he's been ignored for too long - which, come on, you can only imagine is never really that long. Or when he wants out of the carseat. Ugh. That one is not fun. He just doesn't like being held down. He was also throwing food down at the dogs but now at meal times when he starts to do that we just move the dogs out of the room. He's getting better with his plates and bowls too- he likes to throw those sometimes. Maybe this will pay off someday in sports! ha ha!

Nonetheless, I'm really looking forward to planning this little one's first birthday- he really is such a joy and a blessing to all of us. I will just treasure our little snuggle moments before he's too big to sit in my lap (though I truly believe they never will be!).

Always on the go...a little fun at the Jenks Foodie Truck Fair

Yes, he loves the trampoline!

Mothers day- not the best picture but he's my baby!

And yes...this is exactly what he likes to do. All day. Everyday.
